AI in go-to-market

Using AI in B2B SaaS go-to-market without making it worse.

The tools are real. The failure is almost always that nobody decided what the output was for before turning it on.

No sequence, no newsletter. One reply from a person.

Conversation intelligenceSummaries, objection tracking, and what was actually committed on a call.Strongest use in this list
Deal scoringRanking open pipeline on buyer behaviour rather than rep confidence.Needs closed deals to learn from
Content generationFine for structure and first drafts. The insight still has to come from somewhere real.Converged quickly
Support deflectionWell understood, measurable, and usually the fastest payback in the business.Outside GTM proper
Agentic outboundCurrently more promise than practice at mid market, and the reputational downside is real.Watch rather than buy
Where this ends up

The GTM use case with the clearest payback is prioritisation.

Not writing more emails. Knowing which of your open deals moved this week, and why, before the rep opens a laptop.

Questions

Where does AI actually help in B2B SaaS GTM?

Research and enrichment, conversation summarisation, and prioritising open pipeline. Those three have clear payback. Content generation helps with speed rather than with outcomes.

Has AI outbound stopped working?

Generated outreach converged, so reply rates fell for everyone doing the same thing. What still works is specificity, which comes from data rather than from generation.

Should we buy an AI SDR?

At mid market the reputational risk is real and the results are uneven. Fix signal latency and list quality first; most of the promised gain is there.

What has to be true before AI helps?

One record per company, source that survives conversion, and stages that mean the same thing to everyone. Without those, models produce polished answers built on bad inputs.

Want to talk it through?

Leave an email and I will reply myself, usually the same day. No sequence, no newsletter, and no calendar link unless you ask for one.
