Pipeline management tools, and the hygiene problem underneath.

Inspection tools show you the pipeline you have. They do not make it real.

Questions

What should we check before a pipeline review?

Deals with no activity in 21 days, deals past their close date, and conversion by stage. Those three turn the review into a decision meeting rather than a cleanup.

Do we need a pipeline management tool?

Often not. Salesforce reports and a rule that flags stale deals cover most of it. Tools earn their place on multi layer forecast process.

Why does coverage not predict whether we hit?

Because coverage assumes conversion rates are real. If half the pipeline is stale, the ratio is describing something imaginary.

Do you resell any of these?

No. Sapwood takes no vendor commissions and is not a partner of anyone named here.

Want to talk it through?

Leave an email and I will reply myself, usually the same day. No sequence, no newsletter, and no calendar link unless you ask for one.
