Most Salesforce problems in growing companies come from structure rather than configuration: stages without exit criteria, routing that does not match the business, and duplicates the rules keep creating. A full rebuild covering data model, stages, routing, and handoffs sits inside the $2,000 a month retainer, as does forecast methodology and lifecycle architecture.

What usually needs fixing

Stages without exit criteria

A deal in stage three means something different depending on who owns it, so the forecast becomes opinion.

Duplicates nobody can get ahead of

Cleaning duplicates without changing the rules that create them is a treadmill. The fix is blocking creation, not merging weekly.

Routing that does not reflect the business

Leads landing with the wrong owner, or sitting unassigned while the buyer talks to someone else.

Opportunity structure that has drifted

Products, lifecycle, and renewal logic that grew by accretion rather than design, so reporting requires interpretation.

Data model, stages, routing, and deduplication rebuilt inside the retainer. Everything built in a sandbox first.

What we build in Salesforce

Data model and field architecture

Audited, restructured, and documented, so the object model matches how you actually sell.

Stages with observable exit criteria

Defined so the same deal gets staged the same way by any rep.

Routing by region, tier, industry, and title

With automatic account association and firmographics attached on arrival.

Deduplication that blocks at creation

Rules that stop duplicates entering, plus scheduled merges for what already exists.

Forecast methodology

A defensible model underneath the number, with variance you can explain after the quarter.

Questions

How much does a Salesforce consultant cost?

Implementation partners commonly quote $25,000 to $150,000 for scoped work, and senior independents bill $200 to $400 per hour. Sapwood runs this inside the $2,000 a month retainer, and included in the retainer for anything outside scope.

Do you work in a sandbox?

Always. Everything is built and tested outside production, you review before anything touches live data, and deployment happens in an agreed window with a rollback plan.

Can you migrate us from HubSpot to Salesforce, or the reverse?

Yes. Migration is part of the retainer at $2,000 a month.

What access do you need?

System Administrator on a sandbox, plus a standard admin login on production for read access during inventory. We use named accounts, never shared logins, and revoke our own access at handoff.

Are you a Salesforce partner?

No, deliberately. We take no vendor commissions, so the recommendation you get is the one we actually think is right.

Let us look under the hood.

Read-only access to your systems, and a written report you keep either way.
